Looking back at elementary, middle and high school, who did summer school? (If you did, don't be offended by what I'm about to say)...it was the dumb kids I think. The kids that needed more help and such, which is fine. I was NOT one of those kids. Summer was too precious, and I'm pretty sure I did too well in school to qualify for summer school.
Well, now here I am, a perpetual BYU student and instead of doing the smart thing, I take 2 spring classes. Even though they were in the evenings, they were only Mon-Thursday and they really weren't that difficult (except one teacher didn't like me and my grade shows it...but that's another story). Half way through spring classes I got busier since I started working, but it was still ok. Then spring classes end and what do I do? Wrong. I did not go out and celebrate and start enjoying the rest of my summer like a good little boy should. I did one of the most rotten and disgusting things ever, almost immoral...I signed up for summer term. Not just a class or two but THREE. THREE classes amounting to 8 credit hours, and still working about 17-25 hours a week. BAD FORM.
10 hours of sleep in 2.5 days, while working 2 of the 3 days, has allowed me to catch up on all my homework. And I'm grateful for this? Wow, obviously there's something amiss and wrong with me. Yahoo for school...

I just randomly clicked on your blog expecting to see "Goodbye Mother Russia" again...but I was pleasantly surprised! You sound super busy. Good luck finishing up before China!
Oh, and call me back when you get a chance.... :)
I too, expected to see "Goodbye Mother Russia". It was fun to see a new picture - Josef in cornrows!! I will look forward to seeing your posts while you study in China. Love you - Granny Janny
Once you're in college, it's the "smart kids" who go to summer school...just so ya know :) Better keep your blogging fingers warmed up for China, because it's an "assignment" from me that you post an update weekly!
Love you!
