Well, I started my journey, Tuesday morning at 6am when my dad and I left the house, headed for the airport. The hardest part about leaving was not so much in the fact that I still don't exactly know when I'll be coming back to America, but that I don't know if I'll see Jake before he leaves for his mission. But, I know that he is going to do what he needs to continue to prepare and go when the time is right.
So back to the journey...I got to the SLC airport, only to find about 60 missionaries ahead of me in line, waiting to check the baggage. It was pretty funny actually because you could see the excitement and nervousness in their eyes, and I just remember being in their shoes oh so well. My gate, as almost ALWAYS seems to be the case, was the farthest one away possible. And not only the SLC one, but the one here in Korea as well! (I'm in Korea, waiting for my final leg flight-not journey, just flight, to Shanghai).
I've thought a lot about this trip and how things in my life are changing and how/what things will be different when I return to America. I hope and pray that it does not completely fall into the trap that Obama seems to be laying the foundations for. I also hope that global warming doesn't take over and ruin winter-aka, take away the snow :)
Ok, so I keep jumping around...that's probably how it'll always be (and if you've heard me tell a story, you probably already knew that's how it would be). I made it to LAX and decided to have a little bit of this and a little bit of that for my last American food. Most importantly, I had a milk shake, thankfully it was pretty good :) Even though I hadn't even made it to Asia yet, this small inkling of a disease I got on my mission started to come back some...I'm sure I'll be able to keep it at bay though...hopefully ;) It's called Yellow Fever-and lets be honest, flying Korean Air probably didn't help either :) haha, man I love Asia.
Well, my flight will start boarding shortly. To all of you I say continue to love the freedoms you have, whether in America, Finland or Taiwan (or wherever else you might be I 'spose)
