I have been convincing myself to and to not to cut my hair now for...quite some time. These last few weeks playing frisbee though, driving me NUTS, having my hair this long. But then, I love how it looks, and I hate haircuts, always have and probably always will, who knows. But today, I decided that I was gonna have to part with the hair. I realized that I usually only cut my hair about once every 4-6 months or so....maybe a little sooner actually, but not this time that's for sure. Any maybe that's why it's always such a tramatic experience...I go from long lovely locks of golden hair to this short, brisk, fiberglass looking hair. Plus my hair is so fine (according to every barber/stylist that has ever cut my hair) that every little mistake is shown and it's harder to cut my hair than most. Well, today after class I told Jonathan I was gonna get a haircut and he said he was thinking about getting one too so we went where he goes. His got cut just fine and looked great. I tried telling the guy that I did want it short. Everytime he cut some off, I would tell him "shorter still" in Chinese, and he couldn't believe it. He assured me that it wouldn't look good-real comforting. Finally, the owner/boss guy took over, after overhearing the conversation, and cut some, asked me if "this" length was good, I said yes, and he went to town from there. Everything went well from there except when he somehow hit a small bump in the back of my head that apparently started bleeding a lot. I never saw it of course, but other than that, this guy did a fanTAstic job. This here is for you mom and dad: (and I ACTUALLY like my haircut!)

I miss it, but I do like it still...all except for that light behind my left ear that makes it look like I pierced my ear...

Josef, I was somewhat startled when I saw your haircut. I thought, WOW, Josef pierced his ear. Glad to see it was just a reflexion. You have a birthday coming up. I will send $$ to your Mom to put in your account. If you get a package from Gma and Gpa, it is for Christmas. Love you, first born of my grandchildren. Have fun and be safe.

Kyllä on hyvän näköinen mies! Olet kuin lähetyssaarnaaja. I'm proud of you!
Love Dad
Josef, hiuksesi näyttävät aivan suomalaisten hiuksilta! Ja ilmeisesti ovatkin kuvauksesta päätellen: 'Plus my hair is so fine (according to every barber/stylist that has ever cut my hair) that every little mistake is shown and it's harder to cut my hair than most.' We do have such hair!
