July 4th was a Sunday. I bought fruit for the party on Saturday night. We all met up outside a metro stop and walked to a little foresty area. Fires are supposedly illegal w/in city limits or something, with a 4 or 5 thousand Ruble fine (about 30 rubles to the dollar). But, it was a risk we were willing to take, and we did. :) As the only Kujanpää there, I took part lead in the fire building. One match. We had newspaper and my knife, and wood from the trees surrounding. But it all worked out really well. When we got it down to coals, we roasted hot dogs and we sang American songs and it was a blast! God bless America! Oh, and one girl somehow managed to make a casserole and it was soooo good. What's more LDS American than casseroles? nothing.
Oh, and while waiting for everyone to show up at the metro, we all got free Coke from Coca-Cola. They were giving it away, and trying to get people to do a goal scoring victory dance to win tickets to the World Cup. How awesome would that be! Yahoo for freedom, freeness, and free drinks :)
